I just Created

a group on Face Book, called If Joe Lieberman filibusters Health Care, I will support him.

If you agree, I would love to have you join up!!

One day while I was browsing through Face Book, I saw a group called if Joe Leiberman filibusters Health Care, I will support his opponent. It made me so angry I thought I should start a group in opposition, thus I started the above group. I really would love for you to join if you are on FB.
I am positive there are far more of us who are sane than insane. We just have to be a bit more vocal about it.
If, by chance you have joined, tell all of your FB friends about it and invite them to join. You can send invitations through the Joe Lieberman link. I want to send a list of names to him that is so long it will give him pause to know who we are. Please take a minute to go over to FB if you have an account and sign up.

ON THE NEA Recommended Reading list: Saul Alinsky, The American Organizer

Reveille for Radicals

Rules for Radicals
by Saul Alinsky
Vintage; Reissue edition (October 23, 1989)
An inspiration to anyone contemplating action in their community! And to every organizer!

Saul Alinsky wrote the book on American radicalism - two books, in fact: a 1945 best-seller, "Reveille for Radicals" and "Rules for Radicals" in 1971. The "Reveille" title page quotes Thomas Paine... "Let them call me rebel and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul."

Saul Alinsky, who was a labor and civil-rights activist from the 1910's until he died in 1972, has written here a guidebook for those who are out to change things. He sets down what the goal is: a society where people are free to live, and also aren't starving in the streets. A society where there is legal and economic justice. Then he sets out to say how to get there.

Alinsky spends a lot of time critiquing the idea that "The end does not justify the means." What end? What means? He feels that there are circumstances where one can and should use means that in other circumstances would be unethical. I am not sure I agree, but Alinsky certainly speaks with the voice of experience.

Alinsky's goal seems to be to encourage positive social change by equipping activists with a realistic view of the world, a kind of preemptive disillusionment. If a person already knows what evil the world is capable of, then perhaps the surprise factor can be eliminated, making the person a more effective activist. Alinsky further seems to be encouraging the budding activist not to worry to much about getting his or her hands dirty. It's all a part of the job, he seems to say.

Alinsky, the master political agitator, tactical planner and social organizer didn't mince words..

Blog surfing today, I found

This Link. It is called The Bravest. It is hosted by a NY Firefighter who was in tower #2 when it was hit.
It is important you go to it and sign the petition.
In my mind, if you are reading my blog, you would be willing to go and sign the letter also. I hope all of you do. Don't be worried about the enemy getting your e-mail address or knowing your name, they already have it and already know who you are. Signing this letter will not make you any more vulnerable than you already are.
It is time to take a stand.

v
New Cook County Correctional Center, Chicago , Illinois
I guess if I ever break the law, I'd better do it in Illinois !
Our military should have it so good!
Once again the taxpayer gets stung.
It also shows that in most cases the quality of life for prisoners has improved considerably from what you might expect.
And I always thought prison was for punishment.!!!!! This is what is wrong here in the USA .

Let me see now .. who was the Chicago US Senator who helped arrange the funds to build this beautiful "punishment center". Oh yes, it was B. Obama!!! No wonder he sees nothing wrong with the wasted spending in his "Stimulus Plan".

I am wondering, is this where all the residents of Club Gitmo will be sent?

I know this has been

Floating around the Net for a while, but I think we need to see it once in a while just to remind us of the imbalance of our world today. Also note, on the menu to the left, Mushroom Risotto......I pay for everything I eat (except when I get free meals from my D-I-L at the restaurant she works at) and I have never had Mushroom Risotto.

They did it

They rammed it through tonight.
Now my stomach hurts. I am in utter turmoil. I am angry, I am confused, I am distraught.
It is my understanding that once signed into law it cannot be repealed.
There was even one Rhino Republican who voted for it. I did not catch his/her name, but when election time comes, I pray this person is also handed walking papers.
My mind is running in so many circles, I cannot even put coherent thought to this blog.
I truly pray, God have Mercy.
I know if I have to look at her smirking face again, I will literally puke!~!
Her being N. Pelosi. Someone said this week that she is not in the least bit worried about loosing her job. Is she really in that tight that her constituency cannot see what she has done to us?
