And ignore the actual toll of lives that happened
On this infamous day 68 years ago. More than a lifetime for me, but there are those who still remember, and we must never forget the men and women who were murdered on this day as we must never forget those who were murdered on September 11, 2001.
All of my childhood this was a day that was as important as the Fourth of July or Memorial Day, it was a day set aside to remember those who died to insure my freedom. It needs to be remembered in the same manner today. I personally am thankful that I am not speaking Japanese or German today.
I live right here. . .. where it all happened. They shut the bridge down this AM for the memorial so bus service was interrupted until ten, but I drove the kids to school and stayed at Target. I was going to watch the planes fly over . . . from the bench on Ford Island nearest the Arizona memorial.
ReplyDeleteI'll post some pics of the folks at the Oklahoma Memorial later, if I get any more energy.
Would love to see them!
