In no particular order. I like to think it is helping. She was able to go on a trip with her husband this week. He was going for schooling in his job and she accompanied him. Her sister went with them so she would not be alone during the day.
I praise God for every day he gives to us. Life is so precious.

A little boy wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened .

When The postal authorities received the letter addressed to God, USA,
they decided to send it to President Obama.

Obama was so amused that he
instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $ 5.00 bill.

The little boy was delighted
with the $5.00 bill and sat down to write a thank-you note
to God, which read:

Kris's thoughts on Chemo #11

I don"t know where to begin with #11. # 10 went well, I rebounded quickly and felt okay for the most part. Then had surgery, which has proved to be a good decision, as I am able to sleep laying in my bed, all night, most nights.( I really missed my bed for those 5 months...) I cough less now but it seems to hurt more when I do. I don't even want to think about sneezing!

I thought it would be a walk in the park. For now, I am no longer taking the oral chemo xeloda. I had a bone supplement and 2 IV chemos called methotrexate and navelbine. #11 KICKED MY REAR! I slept for 3 days, and spent much of my nights in tears because my bones hurt so badly. The pain in my spine was intense to say the least.

My mind can go to some dark places if I let it. Often times it is at night. I think about death. I think about the things I know I'm going to miss in my boy's lives. Graduations, girlfriends, weddings, grandchildren. I think about Joe and the promise I made to him so many years ago to grow old together.

One night I said it out loud, almost angry: "I don't get to feel good again, do I?" I think God was waiting for me to ask because he gave me this: From my son Brandyn's FB page I read Psalm 16:9-11. I love the whole chapter.

Psalm 16

1 Keep me safe, my God,

for in you I take refuge.

2 I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord;

apart from you I have no good thing.”

3 I say of the holy people who are in the land,

“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”

I don't know if I will ever feel healthy again while I am on this earth. I do know that I feel loved and cared for. I do know that my good days are not gone. In fact this week Monday and Tuesday were good days. I had coughing and pain throughout the days but I also had fun, laughter and indescibable joy in my heart.

USS BILL CLINTON

The USS William Jefferson Clinton (CVS1) set sail today from its home port of Vancouver , BC

The ship is the first of its kind in the Navy and is a standing legacy to President Bill Clinton 'for his foresight in military budget cuts' and his conduct while holding the (formerly dignified) office of President.

The ship is constructed nearly entirely from recycled aluminum and is completely solar powered with a top speed of 5 knots. It boasts an arsenal comprised of one (unarmed) F14 Tomcat or one (unarmed) F18 Hornet aircraft which, although they cannot be launched on the 100 foot flight deck, form a very menacing presence.

I went to my post op appointment this morning Dr. Johnson my oncologist is pleased with the results of my surgery. He says there is some scarring in my right lung but that was to be expected. My right breast hurts and below it is numb, he says it's probable that nerves were damaged by the incisions and they will eventually heal. I weigh less today than I did when I was 16. Seriously, skinny is highly over rated and quite uncomfortable....He says to eat more and start walking as much as I can. He is very happy with the results of chemotherapy and wants to start up again the week after Thanksgiving. Maybe changing it up a little to improve my response to it. He said we have alot of options and can change the medications for optimal response for a long time. I asked how long he thought a long time was. He said 2-3 years. It was a glimmer of hope for me, not long ago we thought my time was up. Alot can change in 2-3 years. I'll take that.

So much has changed in the past 5 months. Relationships have started to heal, new friendships have been made. I am reminded each day that I am nothing, Everything that I have prided myself on is gone. I have no energy to do the things that I want to do, the things that show off my talents, the things that make me, me. I am everything. God loves me so much that he sent His only Son to take my sins away from me so that I can be near to Him. When I am healthy, I do things with my own power. When I am ill I have to ask for the strength to make it through the day, sometimes accomplishing little more than showering and dressing myself. When I am weak He is strong. When I am weak, He is waiting for me to call out to Him so he can carry me. When I am weak He shows Himself to me. When I am weak I am willing to see that He loves me and is with me every step of the way.

Wednesday mornings have been especially difficult. The 30 minute drive into chemo tends to be a long emotional trip. Dread is heavy. Last Wednesday I asked a few friends to pray for me, specifically to help me have a heart of gratitude. God showed up in a big way for me. I could feel Him holding me. My attitude was changed. Friends were texting me encouragement and prayers. My sister Tricia came from Bethel, Ak. ( knowing I would likely be asleep most of her visit). For 2 days we sat around together in our pj's. She gave our dog a bath (He stunk!), just so I could hold him. Meals were delivered. Our son Brandyn, whom we had not seen since August, came home from college for the weekend. To sit and watch the boys make pizza together was priceless and then delicious.

Why? I refused to ask this the first time around. I figured the answer was; Why not? I'm not so special that I could escape a disease that affects so many people. It was just part of life. It could be that I refused to ask because I did not really want to know....This time I'm asking. Why God? Why do I have to do this? Why do I have to hurt so much? He has not given me one answer that explains everything and I don't expect that He will. He has given me answers that help explain some things. He wants me to find strength in Him, not in myself. He wants me to trust Him completely. He wants me to let others love me. He wants me to love others without judgment. Why God? I'm ready to hear you. Why God? I'm ready, teach me.

I was attempting to post these two videos in the same post, just to show the idiocy of the left. She tries to compare Wall Street with the Tea Party, but I am sure by the video below, you can see there is a world of difference between the two. The young men in the video below show class and control the occupiers could never exercise. I think they were having lots of fun too. Sometimes it is just plain old fun to bait the ignorant. It draws out their ignorance all the more and allows everyone to witness it.

Kris Rosebrook Eberle

Went to the oncologist today for the results of the scan today. He came in smiling claiming to have only good news. The larger tumors are responding well to the chemo and have shrunk by about 2/3. The dr is suggesting a procedure that will drain off the water on the lung and then attach the lung back to the walls, then the water won't continue to pool. Please pray for wisdom in what to do.

Written by my daughter Kris. Of course, it brings me to tears. I have the hardest time dealing with the thought that one of my children may be gone before me. Like she says, we all know the truth. It really does not make it any easier though.

I'm not much of a country music fan, in fact when I hear it, my hair stands on end and I usually bellow out a great big TWANG! But there is one song that has given me plenty to think about.

I'm not much of a bucket list kind of person. Sure, I have made big plans for my empty nest years. I want to ride motorcycles all over the USA. Fly somewhere on a whim with my sister. Learn to scuba dive. Travel to Nepal with my brother-in-law. Hike the Grand Canyon. Go to a white sand beach. White water kayaking......All that seems so trivial now.

I totally believe that if God chose to He could completly heal my body. I believe that He wants me to ask Him to extend my life. I believe that He wants His best for me. I believe he will answer my prayers. The answer may be yes. The answer may be no. I believe He is faithful and regardless the answer, worthy of my praise.

My reality on this day is that I am dying. (I don't know how I could hurt this much and not be.) So, how am i going to live while I am dying? I want to hug my husband and both sons, my parents and each of my sisters, my brother, and my friends and tell them what they mean to me and how much I love them everytime I see them. I want to make new friends and feel my heart grow. I want to declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, that I do not fear death. Whether it be sooner or later, I am looking forward to Heaven.

Tuesday at 10AM I will be having a CAT scan to find out if the chemotherapy is working. I will have answers Wednesday.

Please keep me and my family in your prayers. Though we know the truth about our eternity it is an emotional rolleroaster, and none of us are expierenced at dealing with our emotions.

It is hard for me to blog right now. My heart just is not there. I did want to share this with all of you though.

Sighted along the ALCAN

This was our first sighting, a sow with two cubs. We turned back to get some pictures, but by then she had seen us and was calling her babies back and away from the road. One cub is not visible, it is in the brush behind her.

This was our second sighting, not a close encounter this time either. Black bears are very shy and beat a hasty retreat once they know they have been sighted.

We think this one may have been sick. You can see the mange on its backside. It was also swarmed with flies and mosquitoes.

Right next to the road. After this one crossed a cub crossed behind her, but I was not quick enough to get a shot.

This is also considered a Black. I have a whole series of pictures of her I will share soon.

All the times Stan and I have traveled the AlCan, we have never spotted a Grizzly. I have a whole series of pictures of this one I will share soon also.

This was our final sighting. In total we saw 13 blacks and the one grizzly.
We also saw, but did not get pictures of; 2 moose, one fox, and two porcupines which were actually alive and not road kill. Don't think I have ever seen a porcupine still standing before:)

I have not blogged for a while

I find it very difficult to write anything right now. This is my "fluff" blog. It is where I chronicle all of the happy of being a mother and a grandmother. It has been kept, for the most part, pretty ,safe, free from really private and heart wrenching matters. Families all go through things, but we usually do not put it out in Cyber World for everyone to see.
My family is going through something. Not infidelity, not job loss, not a major move, but the very real possibility of one of us leaving this world sooner than she should. Losing my mother was expected. She was 90 years old. She had lived a very full and rich life. With her is the realization that she was going to die, we were prepared. Everyone wants to keep their loved ones forever, never wanting to face the reality of death. Losing my daughter is the hardest thing God has ever put into my life. I cry, I scream inwardly, I beg, I pray. I find comfort in Him to only begin the cycle over again. I think of my friends who have lost a child. I wonder how long it takes before they begin to function again. Do they ever function on the same level they used to. Is there a huge void forever? People say you will heal, but do you really. Yes you go on with life. You have to, others are depending upon you. Much as you may want to, you cannot withdraw, you cannot quit. People get hungry, the house gets dirty, the laundry must be done, yes, I know life goes on. I know He is in control. I know that even when she was in my womb, He knew at her conception how long he would leave her here on the earth before taking her to her heavenly home. I know all of that............We are suppose to rejoice when a Saint is called home. Why am I not doing so?

My 5 year marker is today. Yea! I'm counting from my last Rad of radiation.

There are a few things that cancer has taught me that I'd like to share.

#1 I am nothing. I am everything.

All my accomplishments, my talents and my self confidence, mental, emotional and physical strength mean nothing. Take all that away(plus the hair).

Weak and sick. Begging to die, feeling so alone in my pain. At the end ofmyself, I am everything! A child of God. When I am weak He is strong.

#2 A mother's work is never done. And never properly acknowledged.

Thank you Mom for all the time and effort you put into taking care of my family. (Although, I think that the boys still don't change thier underwear regularly!)

#3 Good friends will muddle in the muck with you. And kick your rear when you need it.

#4 Hair is highly over rated.

Almost three years of remission. Please keep her in your prayers.

They continue to tell us they are a Religion of Peace and Acceptance.

He likes to come to Stan's office and sit and chat with Stan. He will be 90 years old this year.

The festivities moved to our Cemetery. Just had to take a picture of the backs of a couple of the Motor cycle club Vets.

The speaker is a retired Navy Seal. He gave a great presentation of how the Seals work. He told a very emotional story of one of the Seals who lost his life disarming a bomb. The young man is number 38 on the Seal's Memorial Wall. There are now 49 brave young people there. He also made it a point to thank everyone who was involved in the killing of Osama. With one exception. He did not in any way at all reference the other "O". Believe me, I listened.

There really was a much better attendance at the parade than it looks from my pictures. Most of the viewers had congregated two blocks down where the parade culminated with a small ceremony in the town square. I just did not make it down there in time to take pictures of that event. Needless to say, our town is proud of and supports her veterans.

Tricia was in town for some training this week. We were able to meet in Bellevue and go to PF Chang's for dinner. I had never been there. Must say it was nice, food was good.
But the 18% gratuity kind of grated on me. I really resent having the gratuity added to my bill. I am a very generous tipper and had they not added the gratuity, they certainly would have received more than they did.
That rant over, I must say we had a good time. Sadly, Chelle could not make it because she was having a meeting at her house that night. Gina and I shared a dinner for two which included soup: Egg Drop, appetizer: Crab Wanton, 2 entrées: Mongolian Beef and Crunchy Honey Chicken and dessert: 6 layer chocolate cake. One huge slice that we divided between all of us.
Tricia finished her training today and is planning to go play for a while. Since Dave has to work this weekend, the boys are flying down on Thursday to spend the weekend with us and then will fly home with her on Sunday.
Dang, I thought I was posting this on my fluff blog. It is so late and it takes so long to download pictures, I am just going to leave it. Maybe I should have gone to bed hours ago and left this for tomorrow:)

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like
Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of
immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas
of Europe to come to the United States,
people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.
Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground.
They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times.
They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households
and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.
They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did
everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.
Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them.
All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for
a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out.
My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany,
Italy, France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any
thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting
Hitler, Mussolin and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of
America as one people.
When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French American,
the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans.
And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.
And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges.
Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the
entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not
what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in
the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.
And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL, THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET. LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!

Why haven't I been blogging?

My blogging mojo is kind of dry. So.........I have turned my attention to my Charity. For the past two years, I have been knitting and selling my knits to help raise money for my friend Mwenebolongo to build his church in Dar es Salaam. Mwene went home to be with the Lord in January, rather unexpectedly. With the loss of him and then my mother, I have spent some time floundering and knitting. Knitting brings me peace. I do not have to think, I can just sit and very quietly knit. While I knit, I questioned God as to what I was suppose to do with the money I have earned for the project and should I continue. He very gently reminded me that when he gave me this project, he knew that Mwene would not live to see it to fruition, so I continue to knit.
I was going to post pictures of a just finished project, but Google tells me I am out of space and must purchase more space before I can upload any pictures. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I was totally surprised.
If you are at all interested in what I am doing, you can go here and see what I have done this year. I am trying to knit up a stock of things because I am going to Bethel Alaska this summer and I seem to have a pretty good following up there. I have sent things up to my daughter and she sells almost all that I send.
So......anyone need a baby gift, just let me know, I will be more than happy to accommodate you:)

But the first concern for the 22-year-old veteran of three combat tours was the fellow Marines in his unit.

Hamill’s unit had information of an Improvised Explosive Device in an abandoned compound Feb. 13. Hamill, who had served one tour in Iraq and was serving his second tour in Afghanistan, volunteered to inspect the area.

“The IED turned out to be a hoax. I came back outside and stepped on a pressure plate. It blew me 8 feet into the air,” he said Monday from his hospital room at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. “My teeth went through my lower lip. I knew I lost my leg as soon as the blast went off. I looked at it and saw it was gone.”

The Brick Township native and 2006 graduate of Brick Memorial High School said he was conscious during the whole ordeal but spent his time joking around.

The Marine smoked a cigarette as the medics attended to him. He couldn’t remember the exact jokes but said he used “Marine humor,” which he explained can be a little vulgar.

“I was trying to keep the guys in good spirits so they wouldn’t freak out,” he said.

Hamill first was treated at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where President Barack Obama awarded him with the Purple Heart on Feb. 23.

“He shook my hand and thanked me for my service,” he said. “We just had general banter.”

Hamill was transferred to the Reed center March 14. The Marine of five years wants to stay in the military and said his family is keeping him in high spirits as he goes though physical therapy and is gets fitted with a prosthetic leg.

“I’m doing good. I’m hoping to get out of here soon,” he said. “I was pretty (angry) at first, but I’m happy I’m alive. It’s whatever. I’ve got to get used to the situation and learn to walk with a prosthetic leg.”

But it has put a huge financial burden for his family as they have visited him for the past few weeks.

“The government tries to take care of it as much as they can but they don’t account for everyone in the family dynamic,” said Rory’s father, Tim Hamill, of Mays Landing.

Rory’s wife of four years, Kristal Hamill, and two children, Keira, 2, and Liam, 1, have to pay for expenses to see him in the hospital and maintain their home in North Carolina.

Local residents will have the opportunity to support the family of the Brick Township native through a special fundraiser Tuesday at The Continental in Atlantic City.

The restaurant, where Tim Hamill serves as executive chef, will host a fundraiser in an attempt to raise about $10,000 for the family, said Cara Rice, Continental’s director of sales and marketing.

The staff was compelled to do something after they saw Tim Hamill leave every day after work and make the trip to Washington.

“So many people have said, ‘What can we do?’” she said. “This is a special event for Rory. It’s the Continental’s version of a beef and beer.”

Rory Hamill will not be able to attend but his father said the family has been greatly humbled by the outpouring of support.

“It’s been amazing. I never realized how many people out there are capable of this much compassion,” he said. “You feel like everything will be all right. It’s a great feeling to have.”

Libyan Revolution Portends Middle East Meltdown

Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi's ossified regime is following in the footprints of Hosni Mubarak's Egyptian dynasty. At least two of Gadhafi's military pilots defected to Malta on Monday rather than bomb their countrymen as Gadhafi ordered. Various regime ministers have resigned in protest, and Gadhafi has had to refute rumors that he'd already fled to Venezuela. Gadhafi still vows to fight to the end -- to the "last bullet" -- and die as a martyr, but his ability to do so appears weaker by the hour. That's no thanks to the UN, though. The Security Council issued a press statement -- its weakest possible option short of saying nothing -- to condemn violence against civilians perpetrated by the Libyan regime. Libya's seat on the Human Rights Council, the UN's top human rights body, seems secure as well.

Curiously, Obama has been much quieter about Gadhafi's bloody regime than he was in his support for Mubarak's ouster. Perhaps that is because, by extension, Obama has ties to Gadhafi that he would like to leave in the closet. As you may recall, Obama's spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright, has long been tied to Gadhafi and the U.S. organization he sponsors, Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. In the 2008 election campaign, Wright even noted, "When [Obama's] enemies find out that I went to Tripoli to visit [Gadhafi] with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell." Of course, at the time, his sychophants were so focused on "hope and change" that nobody noticed.

Libya's oil industry came to a virtual halt this week, and oil and gas prices predictably spiked. Libyan crude, long the benchmark due to its clean, easily refined composition, provides less than 3 percent of the world's oil, and even a total loss could probably be made up by increased Saudi production. However, its loss, even the threat of its loss, has driven up prices worldwide, as seen when oil approached $120 a barrel this week. Europe will be especially hard-hit by any prolonged stoppage of Libyan oil exports for two reasons: Much of Europe's oil is provided by Libya, and many of Europe's largest oil companies, most notably British Petroleum, are heavily invested in developing Libyan oil fields -- a double whammy of higher gas prices and lost economic activity.

It appears that the favor of the Scottish and UK government's release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi in 2009, is not going to pay much dividend. Al-Megrahi is the terrorist convicted in the murder of 259 people aboard Pan American flight 103 on their way home for Christmas in 1998, and 11 Scottish citizens when the bombed plane crashed in their village of Lockerbie. Yet another great moment in BP history...

In related news about vulnerable Arabic regimes, Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah returned from three months abroad on Wednesday and promptly cracked open the royal piggy bank, clearly hoping simply to pay off any of his subjects who might be getting ideas about revolt. According to differing news reports, the king doled out between $34 and $37 billion worth of cheer in different subsidies. Abdullah and his very extended ruling family have good reason to worry. Saudi Arabia provides free college education to its young men and women but cannot provide them with jobs. Outside the oil industry, which is largely run by foreigners, and a limited number of government jobs, the ordinary Saudi has little opportunity to move up in the world or to support a family.

Here's something to think about . .

This past July, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a
refugee from Cuba . Our dinner conversation was starkly different than
most.

This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960s.
His family was more fortunate than most as they were able to bring a
suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro's newly formed revolutionary
paradise.

Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad,
watermelon and fresh ears of sweet corn. This is a menu shared with
family and friends nationwide, while celebrating the birth of our beloved
America on the Fourth of July.

We began with a simple discussion about our country and the direction it
has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual
complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering
emanating from the rulers in Washington .

But then he said it. The sentence came naturally. I assume it was
unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train. "You know when
Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist."

We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a
nationalist. Before the revolution he didn't sound like a radical."

The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just
like Barack Obama?"

He responded;"Yes, just like Barack Obama."

He continued, "We were all shocked as the government just continued to
grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn
in your guns. We all complied."

"I remember my uncle saying after it started;'Castro will only
nationalize some of the big industries, he will never come and take our
family hardware store.' But that is exactly what happened; Castro started
with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came
and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run
this store for generations. They said we now own the hardware store, you
work for us. And that nice, large four-bedroom home you own, it is now
our property also, and you can move yourself and five children into two
rooms of the house because others are moving in with you."

The lesson learned from this discussion is a lesson most Americans refuse
to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office
they can take totally unexpected turns.

If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors would be
nationalized, we would have never believed it. We could never contemplate
a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a
justice society would be evaporating just like it did in Castro's Cuba in
the early 1960s.

But the news of injustice keeps increasing. Black Panthers are not
charged with wrongdoing by the U.S. Department of Justice because their
crimes are against whites. The bondholders of GM are stripped of their
assets without due process by the government. Governmental leaders are
bribed in full daylight only to have all investigation of the crimes
stifled by the Attorney General. The U.S. borders are overrun with crime
and illegal activity and the leaders in D.C. act as if it is important to
protect the lawbreakers while the innocent are killed and overrun. When
local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed and
threatened as racists and bigots. They are sued by the very
administration entrusted with enforcing the law.

Without the rule of law the U.S. Constitution is a sham. Without the rule
of law our beloved America is swiftly becoming a country where only the
well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As Michelle Malkin
has so eloquently explained in her recent book, a culture of corruption
has replaced honest government.

The only way this problem will be fixed is by massive citizen action. All
honest citizens that want to be treated equally must come together and
demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law end
now. And yes, it can happen here.

The Dr. should be in within the hour to remove tubes and machines from my darling Mama. I spent the night in her room with her. One of us is with her all of the time. If she survives the removal of the tubes and machines, we will keep her here for a couple of days to stabilize her and then take her home. She dearly wants to die at home in her own bed.

Sorry I have not had that much to add to the mix lately.
On Monday, my precious mother suffered massive aneurysm. It affected her entire left front lobe. As the nurse told me, it is where she lives. It is all of her. Today, the Doctor told my sister that we will probably have to make a decision by Sunday. I spent all of this afternoon at the Funeral Home making the arrangements. Almost $12,000.00 later, it is done. Fortunately, she and daddy purchased their plots about 43 years ago.
The sad thing is that I was about one hour from the hospital and my brother, who arrived ahead of me, did not know she had a directive on file. He signed papers for treatment for her, which included surgery and now breathing for her. I could have rescinded his signature since I am her POA, but at that point, I was afraid family would then accuse me of taking her life when maybe it could have been saved. It is very difficult when there are 10 very emotional siblings involved. I try to make decisions that will please everyone, yet respect her.
In my private thoughts and prayers, I know that all of the decisions that have been made, God was in control of.
I will just wait for Him to manifest Himself through it. Our family is diverse. Believers and non-believers.
Catholic and non-Catholic. My brother is a Priest who is in a cloistered order in New Jersey. I am hoping he will be given permission to come home. He has asked, but has not been given an answer.
On the 21st of February, we were going to celebrate the 90th birthday of this amazing woman. We will celebrate, maybe just without her.
By the way, my mother has in excess of 100 direct descendants. 12 Children, two who preceded her, grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. When We All Get To Heaven, What a Day of Rejoicing That Will Be!!!

This child attends a school in Livingston Parish, LA.     Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her child's name wrong.  She says it's pronounced "Ledasha."
When the Mother was asked how in the world she figured it should be pronounced that way, she said,  "cause the dash don't be silent!"

Relative to the rioting in Egypt, we are hearing a lot about the Muslim Brotherhood. A number of   Middle East experts, government officials, media figures and ex-diplomats are reassuring us that the Brotherhood is not to be feared as it has renounced the use of terror to reestablish the Caliphate and impose Shariah law. Well, read the following report and you will see that while they have renounced terror...at least here in North America... they have certainly not given up on their goal of conquering the U.S.    Also, the given list of organizations they control is only a partial list.   Reportedly, they have spawned and control or influence over 70 front groups here in the U.S.

THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD'S "GENERAL STRATEGIC GOAL" FOR NORTH AMERICA
In July 2007, seven key leaders of an Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) went on trial for (and were found guilty of) charges that they had: (a) provided "material support and resources" to a foreign terrorist organization...namely Hamas,    (b) engaged in money laundering; and (c) breached the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which prohibits transactions that threaten American national security. Along with the seven named defendants, the U.S. government released a list of approximately 300 "unindicted co-conspirators" and "joint venturers." During the course of the HLF trial, many incriminating documents were entered into evidence. Perhaps the most significant of these was " An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America" by the Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram.

Written sometime in 1987 but not formally published until May 22, 1991, this 18-page document listed the Brotherhood’s 29 like-minded "organizations of our friends" that shared the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Muslim nation. These "friends" were identified by Akram and the Brotherhood as groups that could help convince Muslims "that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands ... so that ... "God's religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions."

Akram was well aware that in the U.S., it would be extremely difficult to promote Islam by means of terror attacks. Thus the “grand jihad” that he and his Brotherhood comrades envisioned was not a violent one involving bombings and shootings, but rather a stealth (or "soft") jihad aiming to impose Islamic Law (Sharia) over every region of the earth by incremental, non-confrontational means, such as working to “expand the observant Muslim base”; to “unif[y] and direc[t] Muslims' efforts”; and to “present Islam as a civilization alternative.” At its heart, Akram's document details a plan to conquer and Islamize the United States – not as an ultimate objective, but merely as a stepping stone toward the larger goal of one day creating “the global Islamic state."

In line with this objective, Akram and the Brotherhood resolved to "settle" Islam and the Islamic movement within the United States, so that the Muslim religion could be "enabled within the souls, minds and the lives of the people of the country.” Akram explained that this could be accomplished “through the establishment of firmly-rooted organizations on whose bases civilization, structure and testimony are built.” He urged Muslim leaders to make “a shift from the collision mentality to the absorption mentality,” meaning that they should abandon any tactics involving defiance or confrontation, and seek instead to implant into the larger society a host of seemingly benign Islamic groups with ostensibly unobjectionable motives; once those groups had gained a measure of public acceptance, they would be in a position to more effectively promote societal transformation by the old Communist technique of “boring from within.”

“The heart and the core” of this strategy, said Akram, was contingent upon these groups' ability to develop “a mastery of the art of 'coalitions.'” That is, by working synergistically they could complement, augment, and amplify one another's efforts. Added Akram: “The big challenge that is ahead of us is how to turn these seeds or 'scattered' elements into comprehensive, stable, 'settled' organizations that are connected with our Movement and which fly in our orbit and take orders from our guidance.” The ultimate objective was not only an enlarged Muslim presence, but also implementation of the Brotherhood objectives of transforming pluralistic societies, particularly America, into Islamic states, and sweeping away Western notions of legal equality, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech.

Akram and the Brotherhood understood that in order to succeed in this endeavor, they needed to appeal to different strata of the American population in different ways; that whereas some people could be influenced by messages delivered from a religious perspective, others would be more responsive to messages delivered by educators, or bankers, or political figures, or journalists, etc. Thus, Akram's blueprint for the advancement of the Islamic movement stressed the need to form a coalition of groups coming from the worlds of education; religious proselytization; political activism; audio and video production; print media; banking and finance; the physical sciences; the social sciences; professional and business networking; cultural affairs; the publishing and distribution of books; children and teenagers; women's rights; vocational concerns; and jurisprudence.

By promoting the Islamic movement on such a wide variety of fronts, the Brotherhood and its allies could multiply exponentially their influence. Toward that end, the Akram/Brotherhood “Explanatory Memorandum " named the following 29 groups as the organizations they believed could collaborate effectively to destroy America from within – “if they all march according to one plan”:

Mwenebolongo, who I am trying to help build his church in Tanzania, is very ill!!!

Please keep him in your prayers. I do not have any real details about his illness, just that he needs immediate prayer. I am very frightened for his dear wife if he does pass. He has the assurance of his salvation, but Motoko will be a widow in a country that widows are not cared for. She will most likely lose her home and property and be forced to return to Congo. Once Mwene is gone, there will be no reason for the Government of Tanzania to allow her to remain. Her refugee status will become once again active.

I have been spend much of the day asking God what he wants me to do if He takes Mwene home. I am getting the answer that I am to continue with my project. If God does not want me to use it to help build a church, in His time, he will show me what he wants me to do with it. God's money will never go to waste.

Mwene and Motoko's picture is on the sidebar of my other blog, so you can see who you are praying for.

Gosh, I have not posted for two weeks

It is not that I don't care. I probably care too much. I get so wrapped up in what is happening that I sometimes just get to angry. I just have to take some time to think my thoughts through. Blogging about it is not going to change it. It has probably landed me on some watch list. I am in good company though:) Cause I know all of you would be there also.
My computer also crashed two weeks ago. I had to send it away to the Computer Hospital. Of course I had nothing backed up so I lost everything. I think if I let myself think about it, I am sorriest about losing my pictures of DC and Hawaii. Only possessions though, can't take them with me. But..........................I could have left them to my children to fight over who gets to throw them all away.
Spending many hours caring for my mother. That takes much of my energy. I stay with her on Mondays and Fridays, a sister on Tuesday and Thursday and nieces rotate Wednesday. My sister and I each live a hour (me) or more (sister) from her so the drive is also a bear.
I am also spending lots of hours knitting for my church project. If anyone is interested in hand knit items, let me know. I put all the profit into a savings account to help build a church for my friend Mwenebolongo, in Dar es Salaam. If you are interested in what I make, I often post pictures on my other blog. You can go take a peek.
I guess what I am saying, is that I am tired. I need a rest. I need to not think about the world (like that is going to happen) that consumes me.
Maybe after all of the Arizona news is old news, I may feel like once again adding my two cents into the fray.

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz ... We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.
The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.
They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.
We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.
What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe .

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling. (I was pulled out of line on my way home from Washington DC this summer. A 64 year old grandmother. I certainly look like a terrorist with my fair skin and freckles.)
Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Nancy Pelosi's, Gloria Alders and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves - if they have any such sense.
We cannot allow the socialist transformation being brought on by the current administration to continue. Look at what it has done to Europe. We all must stand together before it's too late and everything America stands for is lost.

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims. General Eisenhower Warned Us It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

I had the honor of shaking his hand at a Tea Party in Washington DC. He is very honest in his assessment of what is happening to the Black population. I hope many see this movie and understand the truth he speaks. I love that in this trailer, when he speaks of racism, Al Sharpton's face is flashed across the screen. My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees... I don't feel threatened.. I don't feel discriminated against.. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu .. If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

while blog surfing, I came across Mel's Backyard blog. She was hosting a pay it forward. I have played before and enjoyed it so I thought I would play again. I left my comment. When she asked for my address as I was one of the first three to comment, which is one of the rules, I sent it to her and promptly forgot all about it. Imagine my surprise last week when I received a nice little package in the mail. From someone I had no idea who she was and an address I did not recognize. I opened it to find four bars of scented homemade soap. There are two bars of peppermint rose, and two of lavender. As well as a nice note that said, Surprise!! Surprise!! Doing this was a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it. Best wishes Mel. I racked and racked my brain trying to figure out what it was and why. I did tie it into something from the blog but that was as far as I could get. Finally I wrote Mel a note to thank her and admitted to her my confusion. She sweetly sent me the link to her blog where I had commented. Embarrassed hardly describes it.

Funny this little tidbit was left out of all the reports about BHO and family attending church on Sunday. Like I said to Kent over on Right from Left, so did I, except for a different reason. Just did not realize it was such a huge difference in reasons.

Before last Sunday, US President Barack Obama and his family had only been to church a handful of times since he became commander-in-chief. And two of those visits were for Inauguration Day and Easter.

The Obama family’s sixth time at church in Washington, DC may also have been for a special occasion - to hear a pro-Palestinian activist teach about how Israel needs to surrender its biblical heartland for a phony “peace.”

The president, his wife Michelle and their two daughters attended St. John’s Church, an Episcopal church just across the street from the White House, for the morning service on September 19. Low and behold, that is the same morning that guest speaker Ziad Asali of the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) had the podium.

Asali and the ATFP pretend to want a lasting two-state solution to the conflict, but also advocate the demographic destruction of the Jewish state by supporting the demand that Israel open its gates to millions of so-called “Palestinian refugees.”

The ATFP blames Israel for the current situation, and wants it to apologize for its rebirth as a nation-state, while Asali draws moral equivalency between Palestinian terrorism and Israeli counter-terrorism operations.

Asali and the ATFP are likewise linked to a number of unsavory pro-Palestinian figures who were once on Obama’s guest list.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the US mainstream media ignored the fact that a Muslim with a thinly-veiled anti-Israel message was preaching on the day that the Obama family attended church for only the third time in the past year.

UPDATE: Apparently, St. John's Church has a short one-hour morning service starting at 9 AM, followed by an "Adult Forum" at 10 AM. Asali spoke at the Adult Forum. According to the pool report, the First Family attended the 9 AM service, and then left the church at 10:03.

Nevertheless, it still seems odd that having attended church so few times since moving to Washington, Obama decided to go on the morning that a pro-Palestinian Muslim activist is speaking. Presidents and their staffs don't schedule things on a whim, and they don't show up at the same place as someone like Asali by mere coincidence.

To the election in Delaware. I am confused beyond all measure. I always thought that when we voted in an election, the person we elected would be backed by the party. The person he/she defeats will back the person who the people choose. Isn't that the way it works?

If so, what is going on??? Why is Mike Castle refusing to endorse her? Why are all of the Pundits declaring she will never win? Why are they willing to keep a RINO in office when the people have spoken and said no?

Truly, I am not 'getting' it. Carl Rove should have kept his feelings to himself, instead he should be rolling up his sleeves and asking, "What can I do to help? How can I make the machine work for you?"

Charles Krauthammer should be using his platform to boost and encourage the voters in Delaware.

With this reaction coming from the so called leaders of the party, Christine O'Donnell will continue to fall in the polls. People will be afraid to vote for her because the 'names' are not endorsing her. Is is any small wonder that the media is chortling over the Civil War in the Republican ranks? Reminds me of the saying I hear often from Ann Coulter that the Republicans have the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Is that what we are working on here?

She won a landslide victory (53%) and today I hear she is 11 points beneath Marxist Chris Coons.

We know how Chris will vote, we also know how Christine will vote, so just what is the problem?

As a side note, I was watching Hannity last night. Do not remember who the brunette bimbo was, but she was the liberal on the panel. The only thing she could come up with over and over in her argument against Christine was that she thought the big M'ing was sinful. My gosh, you would have thought Christine had sprouted a second head. News flash!! She also thinks abortion, adultery and extramarital sex are sinful.

She has also apparently defaulted on a home loan and not paid a school loan or her taxes. The reports say she paid her taxes after she decided to run. Hmmmm,,,,,,has Timothy Geitner paid his back taxes yet? It seems too that just last week the news released a report on quite a large numbe of "O's" employees who have defaulted on their taxes. Is this another example of double standards?

Thinking one more example of the people speaking is the amount of money that flooded Christine's coffers following her victory.

Take note RINO's none of you are safe!!!

It wasn’t too long ago that ACORN, the liberal activist organization, was exposed for fraudulently registering the entire Dallas Cowboys football team in Nevada in time for the 2008 election. As Democrats desperately try to hold onto seats in the House and Senate, and governorships in 37 states, liberal organizations are stepping up their voter fraud campaign. Their new target is the fourth largest city in the country, and the economic heart of the Lone Star State — Houston.

On Tuesday, Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Leo Vasquez, who is in charge of voting registration in Houston’s encompassing county, accused Houston Votes and the Texans Together Education Fund of an organized voter fraud campaign. Houston Votes submitted more than 25,000 applications in recent months wrought with disturbing irregularities, including addresses that didn’t exist, non-citizens seeking to register, and cases where up to six applications were submitted for the same person.

Vasquez said that the integrity of the voter rolls in the Houston area, “appears to be under an organized and systematic attack,” by Houston Votes, the voter registration arm of Texans Together, whose board of directors is stocked full of Democrats.

The board includes Cris Feldman, one of the lawyers who brought a civil suit against Tom Delay’s TRMPAC; James Aldrete, a veteran Democrat operative who consulted for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign; and Andres Pereira, a mass torts trial attorney in Houston who has given thousands of dollars to Democrats, and was a 2008 candidate for a judicial position in Houston.

Although Texans Together claims to be non-partisan, their liberal ties run deep, and the organization’s efforts to register more than 600,000 new voters in the Houston area by November now comes under great scrutiny, after so many irregularities were found in this recent batch of applications.

Much of the research that uncovered these gross irregularities in the voter rolls was done by a citizen’s watchdog group called True the Vote. They began their investigation by looking at households where six or more voters resided. That’s how they stumbled upon what is perhaps the most troubling discovery — an instance where as many as six people where registered at an address that is nothing more than a vacant lot.

Texans Together, like other liberal voter registration organizations caught participating in voter fraud, claims that it had no knowledge of the invalid applications, and the group’s President Fred Lewis was quick to say efforts to review and clean up these rolls are simply Republicans trying to suppress voter registration. Lewis also said he would appeal to Obama’s Justice Department in Washington. “We need to have the Justice Department come in and see what Mickey Mouse stuff he and his office are doing to suppress people.”

Fraudulent voters may play a key role in November’s elections. Besides Democrat congressional seats in Texas, the state is also holding contests for state-wide offices, and battling for control of a closely divided State House. Chief among these elections is the battle for Texas Governor, between Republican Governor Rick Perry and the Democrat Bill White. White, a former Houston mayor, comes from the very county where this massive voter fraud is taking place, and could gain the most from these suspect voters.

As Democrats reach new levels of desperation, efforts to defraud genuine American citizens of their right to fair and free elections seem to be in their cross-hairs. Winning elections at all costs requires that groups like ACORN and Texans Together prey on that shortcomings of Voter ID laws in hopes of fraudulently swinging elections in their favor.

In a country where you have to provide a valid ID to drive, fly or even enjoy a beer, it’s astounding that in most states you are not required to do the same to vote. Evidence like this shows that this failure of the system will continue to be exploited in the interests of those who stand to benefit.

by WND and the examples you gave are blatantly false. I went directly to the Supreme Court website, typed in Obama Kagan and immediately came up with all of the dockets that WND made reference to. I have long suspected that you really slant things but this was really shocking.

docket and search for Obama. She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship. He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied of course. They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn't it? The American people mean nothing any longer.. It's all about payback time for those that compromised themselves to elect someone that really has no true right to even be there. We should be getting so sick of all of this nonsense.

Then you know I am a very feeling oriented person. I am happiest if I know I have pleased you. If what I have done does not please you, I am in a blue funk for days. In light of that, I have been struggling with what some people felt towards the Rally and the fact that I had attended it. That was until I picked up a book given to my husband one day two weeks ago. The author of this book is Robert Hobson,, and he himself gave it to my husband when he visited his office. Stan read it and told me it was an amazing book. I picked it up this morning and have only read three chapters. I have found my answer to my taking part in the Rally though. In my heart, I knew I had done nothing wrong, but you know how those "feelings" can work on you. I want to share the first chapter with you. It is a bit long, but I hope you will bear with me and read it.

The plane dipped its wing and there it was, the village of Hoskins, New West Britain, Papua New Guinea. I could not believe that I was on the mission field where my friends Ken and Stephanie are missionaries along with their two youngest children. The three oldest were attending school in Goroka.

After lunch we were enjoying a bit of nostalgia regarding Stephanie's parents, when in the midst of our laughter, Joel came into the living room. With a rag doll under one arm and a plastic horse under the other, he declared defiantly, "These are mine!" Okay, who cares? I thought. We laughed, ignored him and went on with our conversation.

However, I could not help noticing the look on his face. Such a fiercely determined, willful look of arrogance for such a little boy. There was no doubt to whom the rag doll and plastic horse belonged. The impact of that statement still lingers in my mind. Who cares to whom they belong? to Joel they were valuable, and he certainly did not want any misunderstanding as to whom was the rightful owner.

A rag doll and plastic horse. Their value? Not much. Yet the defiantly, Joel proudly declared ownership. There was no life in either of the two; that didn't matter. At that moment his whole life was wrapped in those two items.

Sound familiar?

We as Christians have our pet doctrines, evangelical cliches, theologies, denominations, evangelical phrases, hymns and choruses. Should anyone doubt their value, all one needs to do is challenge us and we will all hear along with Joel:

"These are mine! How dare you challenge the value of my personal 'evangelical' rag doll and plastic horse?"

What is the value of a rag doll and a plastic horse? There is no life in either. The rag doll could not speak or react. The plastic horse is unable to respond and certainly he couldn't ride it. But never mind.........."These are mine!" There is no truth in a rag doll and plastic horse, but nevertheless, "These are mine!"

Truth and value are unimportant to a three year old boy. What was important to him was ownership of two insignificant, lifeless objects. Ownership, not relationship. For a functional relationship to exist, there must be life from both sides. Otherwise it is not relationship, it is ownership of the worst kind.

The Lord Jesus did not die on the cross in order to provide for us a non-life or non-living relationship. He did not redeem us so that we in turn could pump out some nondescript meaningless relationship to Him and to others; to program ourselves and others into a man-made system of so-called "religious" spirituality.

The fact is that the Christian life can be simply summed up as a conglomeration of all of the above. We each have our own private "rag doll" and "plastic horse" that we value and trumpet as the "truth." We clutch the denominational rag doll to its death and ride that plastic horse as though it had life. We prop it up, program it, pump new blood into it, expecting it to come to life. There it stands, completely absolutely lifeless; but so very precious to us. All in the name of a rag doll and plastic horse that we call the Christian life.

These are mine!is nothing quite as important as a rag doll and a plastic horse, if you are three years old!

The Restoring Honor Rally

I missed getting Miss King's picture in the order of presentation. My computer does not allow me to move them once they have been entered. I do not want to erase everything and start over. All I can say, she is a very brave woman to stand up to the wrath of her family to be here on this day.

Jesse and I arrived at the Lincoln Memorial at 6:30 AM to this crowd. We learned people spent the night here. The park police would not allow anyone to sleep. You had to be sitting up and awake all of the time as camping on the grounds is not permitted.

Jesse wanted a souvenir of the Rally so he purchased this flag. Not thinking that he could not take the pole with him on the plane.
One of these two gentlemen had fingernail clippers with them and was able to cut the zip ties that were holding the flag to the stick. They then took the time to fold it for Jesse. In return they took the pole to use as a walking stick.

Sarah Palin!! What a woman! Say what they want to say about her, she has it all! She spoke as the mother of a Combat Veteran. You remember, this was a Rally whose purpose was to Restore Honor to our Service men. I felt fortunate to be close enough to see without having to watch the entire rally on the big screen.

Glenn Beck. Before I left for this rally, I was seeing things being posted by Christians that we Christians should not attend because of Glen's religion. We should not be unequally yoked and we should not stand before our God with a Mormon. That God would not hear our prayers because Mormons are not true Christians. It is amazing to me how the enemy works to divide and conquer. I know that my God heard my prayer that day. I know he heard many prayers that day. I know that Glenn has a passion to save our country from sheer ruin and he is willing to put his life on the line to do so. He also has a passion for the wounded veterans. Like Sean Hannity he has taken on an organization that helps children of our fallen hero's attend college. There was a collection taken for the SWOF during the rally. I have not heard the official count of how much was given, but I guarantee it was much. We were able to text a number on our cell phone to donate.
There were over 200 men and women of the cloth who stood before us and pledged to fight for our country. They were dubbed the Black Robe Brigade.
1000, 87,000, just a couple of the numbers I picked up from the web. I think not. I would say we topped 700,000. There was not a hotel room available in the entire city. I heard of people sharing their rooms with strangers just so they would have a place to stay. I was contacted by someone asking if I would share with them, but since I had my grandson along, I did not feel it was prudent to do so.

that one of my favorite sources for recipes is Taste of Home. I have most of their magazines and buy their cookbooks as soon as they are available. This one is my favorite "wow" them cheese cake recipe. I am sorry I do not have a picture of it, but I guarantee it is every bit as pretty as any you can buy from any bakery and far tastier!

Luscious Almond Cheesecake

Submitted by Brenda Clifford

Prep:15 minutes.

Bake: 1 hour + chilling

Yield 14-16 servings

1 1/4 cups crushed vanilla wafers (about 28 wafers)

3/4 cup finely chopped almonds

1/4 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter melted

FILLING

4 8 ounce packages of cream cheese, softened

1 1/4 cups sugar

4 eggs lightly beaten

1 1/2 tsp almond extract

1 tsp vanilla extract

TOPPING

2 cups sour cream

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tblsp sliced almonds, toasted

1. In a bowl, combine the wafer crumbs, almonds and sugar; stir in butter. Press onto the bottom of a greased 10 inch springform pan; set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Stir in extracts. Pour into crust. Place pan on a baking sheet.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until center is almost set. Remove from the oven; let stand for 5 minutes (leave oven on). Combine the sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Spoon around the edge of cheesecake; carefully spread over filling. Bake 5 minutes longer. Cool pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen; cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate overnight.

4. Just before serving, sprinkle with almonds and remove sides of pan. Refrigerate leftovers.

to me that in the face of all of the arguing about the mosque. All of the attempts to make those of us who oppose it, based on the location, and the location only, that there has not been a single word mentioned about the Greek Orthodox church that WAS destroyed when the twin towers fell.

The Greek Orthodox church that in 10 years has been unable to get the proper permits to rebuild on land they owned before we were attacked. On land they have occupied for generations. One reason they have not been given a permit, it is too tall. Hmmmm, isn't the mosque 13 stories? When I look at pictures of the destroyed Church, it does not look to me like it even began to occupy the footprint of the mosque. Just what gives here?

It is interesting too, and cannot be mentioned often enough, the muslims have a habit of building on grounds they consider conquered. Just how stupid does Bloomberg and his ilk think we are?

Administration Now Preventing Overseas Soldiers From Voting

Lily Tomlin once said about Hollywood, “No matter how cynical you get, you never can keep up.” The same sentiment applies to the current administration. Few of its harshest detractors could even imagine the depths to which this government has stooped to remain in power. Very few would have imagined that the President’s administration would encourage lawbreaking to disenfranchise Americans in uniform. Yet, according to two Department of Justice officials, that is now official policy.

The Military Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act was passed last October to ensure that Americans serving abroad would have their votes counted. Specifically, MOVE requires states to send absentee ballots to citizens serving overseas 45 days before any election. But according to Eric Eversole and J. Christian Adams, two former attorneys for the DOJ’s voting section, Eric Holder’s justice officials are going to great lengths to subvert this law and prevent members of the American military from voting.

Rebecca Wertz, deputy chief of DOJ’s voting section, has met with various state attorneys general to let them know that litigation against states that violate MOVE regulations would be a “last resort” and to suggest that states take advantage of ambiguous language in the MOVE act that allows “waivers” for requirements that produce “undue hardship.” Basically, the DOJ is encouraging states to seek loopholes in the MOVE act and promising not to investigate states that avail themselves of such loopholes.

Additionally, the DOJ web site does not mention the MOVE act, and in fact refers to the previous regulation, now superceded, of a non-binding recommendation to send out absentee ballots a month in advance. This can only be a deliberate attempt to further subvert the new law.

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice is very selective about the laws it enforces. It does not prosecute New Black Panthers for voter intimidation. And now it encourages states to prevent their citizens serving in the military from voting.

There is only one reason for the DOJ to follow this course. The Obama administration knows it cannot retain its grip on power if a free election is held in November. Only by manipulating the outcome, suppressing the votes of some Americans, and subverting the law do the Democrats have a chance of winning. It is easy to identify the votes Obama and Holder wish to suppress by observing which violators they protect. New Black Panthers brandishing weapons at polling places suppress the white vote. States that avoid, with the endorsement of the Justice Department, the regulations of the MOVE act suppress military voters. Thus, Obama and Holder obviously believe that white voters and military voters are a threat to their power.

Judging from the recent Real Clear Politics average of national polls showing Obama underwater by four points, white voters and military voters aren’t the only ones disenchanted with the Commander in Chief. All citizens must not only assert their right to vote, but protect the rights of those the government seeks to intimidate or suppress. No group deserves this protection more than the men and women who fight and die to give us those rights in the first place.

What I am about to tell you is something you've probably never heard or will ever read in history books.

I believe that I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history. We elected him by a landslide - 98% of the vote.. I've never read that in any American publications.

Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force.

In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression. Nearly one-third of our workforce was unemployed.. We had 25% inflation and 25% bank loan interest rates.

Farmers and business people were declaring bankruptcy daily. Young people were going from house to house begging for food. Not that they didn't want to work; there simply weren't any jobs. My mother was a Christian woman and believed in helping people in need. Every day we cooked a big kettle of soup and baked bread to feed those poor, hungry people - about 30 daily.

The Communist Party and the National Socialist Party were fighting each other. Blocks and blocks of cities like Vienna , Linz , and Graz were destroyed. The people became desperate and petitioned the government to let them decide what kind of government they wanted.

We looked to our neighbor on the north, Germany , where Hitler had been in power since 1933. We had been told that they didn't have unemployment or crime, and they had a high standard of living. Nothing was ever said about persecution of any group -- Jewish or otherwise. We were led to believe that everyone was happy. We wanted the same way of life in Austria . We were promised that a vote for Hitler would mean the end of unemployment and help for the family. Hitler also said that businesses would be assisted, and farmers would get their farms back. Ninety-eight percent of the population voted to annex Austria to Germany and have Hitler for our ruler.

We were overjoyed, and for three days we danced in the streets and had candlelight parades. The new government opened up big field kitchens and everyone was fed.

After the election, German officials were appointed, and like a miracle, we suddenly had law and order. Three or four weeks later, everyone was employed. The government made sure that a lot of work was created through the Public Work Service.

Hitler decided we should have equal rights for women. Before this, it was a custom that married Austrian women did not work outside the home. An able-bodied husband would be looked down on if he couldn't support his family. Many women in the teaching profession were elated that they could retain the jobs they previously had been required to give up for marriage.

Hitler Targets Education - Eliminates Religious Instruction for Children:

Our education was nationalized. I attended a very good public school.. The population was predominantly Catholic, so we had religion in our schools. The day we elected Hitler (March 13, 1938), I walked into my schoolroom to find the crucifix replaced by Hitler's picture hanging next to a Nazi flag. Our teacher, a very devout woman, stood up and told the class we wouldn't pray or have religion anymore. Instead, we sang "Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles," and had physical education.

Sunday became National Youth Day with compulsory attendance. Parents were not pleased about the sudden change in curriculum. They were told that if they did not send us, they would receive a stiff letter of warning the first time. The second time they would be fined the equivalent of $300, and the third time they would be subject to jail. The first two hours consisted of political indoctrination. The rest of the day we had sports. As time went along, we loved it. Oh, we had so much fun and got our sports equipment free. We would go home and gleefully tell our parents about the wonderful time we had.

My mother was very unhappy. When the next term started, she took me out of public school and put me in a convent. I told her she couldn't do that and she told me that someday when I grew up, I would be grateful. There was a very good curriculum, but hardly any fun - no sports, and no political indoctrination. I hated it at first but felt I could tolerate it. Every once in a while, on holidays, I went home. I would go back to my old friends and ask what was going on and what they were doing. Their loose lifestyle was very alarming to me. They lived without religion. By that time unwed mothers were glorified for having a baby for Hitler. It seemed strange to me that our society changed so suddenly. As time went along, I realized what a great deed my mother did so that I wasn't exposed to that kind of humanistic philosophy.

Equal Rights Hits Home:

In 1939, the war started and a food bank was established. All food was rationed and could only be purchased using food stamps. At the same time, a full-employment law was passed which meant if you didn't work, you didn't get a ration card, and if you didn't have a card, you starved to death. Women who stayed home to raise their families didn't have any marketable skills and often had to take jobs more suited for men.

Soon after this, the draft was implemented. It was compulsory for young people, male and female, to give one year to the labor corps. During the day, the girls worked on the farms, and at night they returned to their barracks for military training just like the boys. They were trained to be anti-aircraft gunners and participated in the signal corps. After the labor corps, they were not discharged but were used in the front lines. When I go back to Austria to visit my family and friends, most of these women are emotional cripples because they just were not equipped to handle the horrors of combat.

Three months before I turned 18, I was severely injured in an air raid attack. I nearly had a leg amputated, so I was spared having to go into the labor corps and into military service.

Hitler Restructured the Family Through Daycare:

When the mothers had to go out into the work force, the government immediately established child care centers. You could take your children ages 4 weeks to school age and leave them there around-the-clock, 7 days a week, under the total care of the government. The state raised a whole generation of children.. There were no motherly women to take care of the children, just people highly trained in child psychology. By this time, no one talked about equal rights. We knew we had been had.

Health Care and Small Business Suffer Under Government Controls:

Before Hitler, we had very good medical care. Many American doctors trained at the University of Vienna . After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone. Doctors were salaried by the government. The problem was, since it was free, the people were going to the doctors for everything. When the good doctor arrived at his office at 8 a.m., 40 people were already waiting and, at the same time, the hospitals were full. If you needed elective surgery, you had to wait a year or two for your turn. There was no money for research as it was poured into socialized medicine. Research at the medical schools literally stopped, so the best doctors left Austria and emigrated to other countries.

As for healthcare, our tax rates went up to 80% of our income. Newlyweds immediately received a $1,000 loan from the government to establish a household. We had big programs for families. All day care and education were free. High schools were taken over by the government and college tuition was subsidized. Everyone was entitled to free handouts, such as food stamps, clothing, and housing.

We had another agency designed to monitor business. My brother-in-law owned a restaurant that had square tables. Government officials told him he had to replace them with round tables because people might bump themselves on the corners. Then they said he had to have additional bathroom facilities. It was just a small dairy business with a snack bar. He couldn't meet all the demands. Soon, he went out of business. If the government owned the large businesses and not many small ones existed, it could be in control.

We had consumer protection. We were told how to shop and what to buy. Free enterprise was essentially abolished. We had a planning agency specially designed for farmers. The agents would go to the farms, count the live-stock, then tell the farmers what to produce, and how to produce it.

"Mercy Killing" Redefined:

In 1944, I was a student teacher in a small village in the Alps . The villagers were surrounded by mountain passes which, in the winter, were closed off with snow, causing people to be isolated. So people intermarried and offspring were sometimes retarded. When I arrived, I was told there were 15 mentally retarded adults, but they were all useful and did good manual work. I knew one, named Vincent, very well. He was a janitor of the school. One day I looked out the window and saw Vincent and others getting into a van. I asked my superior where they were going. She said to an institution where the State Health Department would teach them a trade, and to read and write. The families were required to sign papers with a little clause that they could not visit for 6 months. They were told visits would interfere with the program and might cause homesickness.

As time passed, letters started to dribble back saying these people died a natural, merciful death. The villagers were not fooled. We suspected what was happening. Those people left in excellent physical health and all died within 6 months. We called this euthanasia.

The Final Steps - Gun Laws:

Next came gun registration.. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily.

No more freedom of speech. Anyone who said something against the government was taken away. We knew many people who were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministers who spoke up.

Totalitarianism didn't come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria . Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to

the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism.

Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.

After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria . Women were raped, preteen to elderly. The press never wrote about this either. When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything that they could, dismantling whole factories in the process. They sawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn't destroy, they burned. We called it The Burned Earth. Most of the population barricaded themselves in their houses. Women hid in their cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized. Those who couldn't, paid the price. There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians. This is an eye witness account.
